Job Description

About Mira Home - Pest Control:

At Mira Home, we are more than just a pest control company; we are a customer-focused team dedicated to peace of mind. Our mission is simple: we worry about the bugs so our customers don't have to. We operate route-based residential pest control branches across multiple states, built on a culture of accountability, safety, and exceptional service. The consistency of our technical work in the field is the foundation of the business.

Position Overview

The Technical Director serves as the company's senior technical authority on pest management. The position owns treatment protocols and program development, technical training for both field and internal teams, multi-state regulatory compliance, and the quality assurance standards that govern service delivery.

The role combines program development with active field verification. The Technical Director is expected to build standards centrally and confirm their execution in branches. The position reports to the VP of Operations and partners closely with Senior Operations Managers, Operations Managers, and Field Managers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all service delivery complies with EPA label requirements, state pesticide regulations, and company safety standards. Lead regulatory inspections and audits and resolve findings. Maintain pesticide use records, SDS documentation, and application recordkeeping company-wide. Monitor regulatory changes across operating states and update company practices accordingly.
  • Treatment Protocols and Program Development: Develop and maintain treatment protocols and SOPs for all service types, including general pest, ancillary services, and specialty services. Set product selection, mix rates, and application standards. Evaluate new products, equipment, and methods and determine what the company adopts.
  • Field Training: Build and administer the technical training curriculum from new hire onboarding through advanced and specialty certification. Train Field Managers and Operations Managers to deliver training within their own branches.
  • Internal Team Training: Train customer service, routing, and sales teams on pest identification, service expectations, and accurate customer communication.
  • Quality Assurance and Callbacks: Own the company callback rate. Analyze root cause by branch, technician, pest type, and product, and implement corrective action. Build and administer the field audit and quality check program.
  • Escalation Support: Resolve escalated technical issues and difficult accounts, and report technical quality trends and corrective actions to executive leadership.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of hands-on pest control experience across residential and commercial service.
  • Current applicator or operator certification, with the ability to obtain licensing in additional states (company paid).
  • Experience serving as a qualifier, RCA, or technical lead with regulatory responsibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver technical training programs.
  • Working knowledge of EPA label requirements, state pesticide regulations, and recordkeeping standards.
  • Experience authoring SOPs and treatment protocols used across a team or organization.
  • Ability to travel approximately.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Degree in entomology, biology, or a related field preferred.
  • Associate Certified Entomologist (ACE) or Board Certified Entomologist (BCE) preferred.
  • Multi-branch or multi-state experience preferred.
